By the fact that I got sheared on Monday and no-one seems to have noticed? Or should I be worried that what I thought was a fabulous new do is not and my co-workers are just being nice in not mentioning? Do I sound paranoid?

Yes you should be bothered, coworkers being nice to you is just their way of caring sometimes. I'm sure you look fabulous! ~Cat
The same thing happened to me. It took a week for anyone to say anything. Of course, I am the only female in the office so I wasn't terribly surprised. Though I did tease the guy who finally noticed mercilessly that if I was his wife, he'd have been toast for taking that long to notice!
I wonder the same thing, at times. I'm torn between not wanting any comments, and then wondering why there are none. I went from very long hair to very short hair, and no one said a word for a month. I thought "oh dear, I've made the biggest mistake EVER." As I started to let it grow out again, everyone THEN said "Oh no, that haircut was the best ever, don't let it grow again!" So what can you do but shrug? I guess coworkers are often too self-absorbed to pay much attention to us, which is okay with me -- I'm often the same way, but I always make certain to say "your hair looks nice" or "those are lovely shoes" at least once a day to someone. With guys "You smell great, I like that cologne." You can see it brightens their day considerably.
that just happened to me. even my best friend didn't say anything about it. i had really bad ends that i got all trimmed off. i just told myself that there's no way my fried ends could have looked better than my nicely styled new hair. but could it??? haha... :)
