I have a birthday coming up. A big one. A ZERO birthday. And I'm thinking of throwing myself a party. Should I? What should I serve? Should I serve dinner or snacks? I'm open to all suggestions. Any thoughts?
You MUST do something to mark your birthday. Milestones are important! What you do depends on you. I have one friend who had a dessert buffet and I thought that was a great idea (a lot can be prepared in advance and it looks so pretty).
Like Suzie said a dessert buffet sounds fun, complete with a chocolate fountain and lots of fun dippers! I would do an appetizer & desert buffet that way there is a little bit of everything and it keeps it light (not calorie wise of course, just 'not sit down and have a formal dinner' light) and fun.
You should absolutely have a party! (Happy Birthday!) I would use the menu "Afternoon Tea" from Barefoot Contessa Parties. it has herbed goat cheese sandwiches, lemon bars, fruit tarts and a whole lot more tasty stuff!

It's your party, have it if you want to! (How does the rest of that song go?) If you want to, why not? IF you don't want to, why? Life's short, enjoy!
